I had a great answer to this problem awhile back, but i can;t seem to remember what I said? Oh well |

And yeah that's the test mule car(black one) and the concept drawing(blue one).. Quote:

Can anyone explain why all companies have been putting these atrociously ugly thick fender walls? It never blends well and takes away and aggressiveness.
The worst offender imo is Nissan.
But sersiouly, it looks terrible.
EDIT: I just realized I clicked the link that led to the black car. I am assuming you are referring to the blue drawing? Anyways, I like the styling alot. It reminds me of the GTO for some reason. HOWEVER, for the love of god, stop making these cars so dang thick! I mean, look at those windows. They are a third the size of mine. Leave the roof line the same, but squish all the body panels by about 3-4 inches and you have one hot car! | And I agree! These companies think these fender walls and other similar styling cues make the cars more aggressive looking, but I think it makes the look "puffy", confusing and more so, kinda.. "cheap". The mustang didn't start looking like that until the other american muscle cars came around and Ford thought they "had" to do that.. I personally like the 05-09 Mustang, just because they don't have that dramatic "overkill" new age thing going on.. And I agree on the fact too, that they don't blend well.. They actually make people focus on them over the whole car!.. And I think your right though, the japanese car companies are also doing this. Most notably Nissan. lol
As for the "thicker" cars, I agree.. I think these car companies are going off track with these designs. Who knows why, but all i know is, it's gotta be fixed soon! In the mean time, i'll just enjoy driving my classic 'Stang! |

But, I think they are drifting away from the original design and ideals that are "Mustang". I think they should've sticked with just improving upon the original design.. Whatever they do.. when this thing is out in public, people should just be able to tell by looking at it, that it's a mustang. |

The IRS is heavier, and it looks like theyre stuffing more technology into it. The great the about the Mustang was that it was the lightest of the bunch. | I hope so.. But as long as it looks like a Mustang, I'm fine with it. I agree they should be doing research to make the car the best it can be. I think they spend to much time trying to change it into another car.. Also, I know! Way back in '64 the Mustang was known as the lighter car, that was well balanced. Now it's the complete opposite. |

Being a Ford fan, the mustang is a track car also, people should be able to customize their car for differerent reasons. I also feel that the new design is horrible, The mustang already has a solid score in consumer reports. If Ford can tune the engine to get better mpg in each, people will want it. I also feel retro is much better than modern. The retro style dash and seating looks nice and is different. I would like modern tech, but with retro feel. The Lincolns are starting to look nice, but are taking on too much modern garbage
