Mustang Seats

Howdy everyone. You may have seen the posts I have done regarding my 78 year old Mother's Mustang. She has a 2000 convertible mustang with 37,000 miles. A few dings and scratches. Worse part is the interior. She smokes like a chimney so the inside reeks and has cigarette burns in the fabric. The driver seat is uncomoftable as well. Seems like the padding in the seat has broken down.

She is finally ready to seel it and buy something she can more comfortably drive. I'm probably going to buy it from her and fix it up.

My question: I want to put in new seats. What would be reasonable options? Where might I shop?

I can find you whatever you want, just let me know. It all depends on how much you're looking to spend, and new or used. Also, is the drivers seat power or manual? And are you looking for cloth or leather seats? Shoot me a PM if youd like.

Ebay or junkyard if you can find them in good condition. I never liked Stang seats, even in the Cobra, they don't feel like sporty seats, more like overbloated lazy boy cushions. One of the 1st things my buddy did way back when he had his 03' Cobra was to rip the crap seats out.

Not for sure, but check the net. I bet you can get repros and rebuild kits with no problem.

I'm with you Sufer, I've never thought the seats were good in the car. I think Recarro are way out of my price range. The wife is okay with me buying the car from Mum, but not so excited about me putting money into it.

I assume some local shop could recarpet the interior. As I said the smoke and ashes are everywhere in the car. The interior is light brown, I don't care so much for the color. The exterior is white. Here are a couple of pictures after I detailed it.

If I do it, I'll have to one day spring for wheels like Wytstang put on his Mustang!

Dan, thanks for the tip. I love your webpage!
