Which kind of polisher?

I'm looking to buy a new polisher. My question is does a porter cable do the Job as good as a rotary polisher? Ive buffed with a rotary polisher for years so I have plenty of Exp with 1, but a polisher like the pc7424 is alot easier. I've used the pc for applying final wax but that's it. Does it compare to a typical rotary polisher as long as you have the right pads? If not then I will just get a rotary polisher.

Re: Which kind of polisher?

IMO,
The rotary is the best and fastest for major correction, the DA style polishers are far better for final finishing and minor correction.

If go to articles by Mike Phillips in the ask the expert section of this forum, you will find lots of articles about different polishers and their capabilities.

There is always this
Amazon.com: Dynabrade 61384 - Dual-Action Buffing Head - - Dynabrade - 61384: Home Improvement

It was quite the subject at one time. I haven't heard much since then.
