Pretty normal and generally expected. It has nothing to do with getting too big, or not caring any more, its about making money.
You make 30% profit on a good customer that isn't going to shop you out because he has been doing business with you for 20 years. You make 20% on a job with a new customer that may never do work with you again, but you wanted to make that 20%.

Somebody call a whaambulance; if it is anything like where I work, AG does not set the price on the shipping, UPS does ...... period. There have been times I have paid full price for products and shipping from AG, and have come out getting it cheaper than getting it on sale from another site. I mean give them a break even if they do set the price. Boxes, tape, packaging, labels, printing ink, etc. .... ect. Shipping costs. It all adds up.

But that is just what some people think. Personally I like to see my money go to the little guy, the local business. I call up my supplier and talk to the same, guy every time. It also makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside that the guy that picks up the phone AND packs the boxes is the guy that owns the company. I'm a local business, and if people stop supporting local businesses all you are going to see is Walmarts, Home Depots, and Mr. Washes. There won't be and local hardware stores, local markets, or local detailing shops. | Are you for real? are you talking about yourself and your personal experiences w/ AG? I am new to AG and have order quite a few things from them. If there was a problem or question, AG was more than willing to help.
I was disappointed that the promo code for 20% was over. I took advantage of this code and have save hundreds of dollars. AG have the BEST customer services and the most competive price. They're more than fair to this community and i love the way they do business.

All of you guys whining and complaining about no sales.... Then complaining and posting about wanting better savings codes....
Once again for this week: ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?!
All of you that post up cupon codes all over the place ruin it / them for the rest of us. Why can't you us the PM function to send this info? Is it really that hard?
Once again, Do you always have to have free shipping and a special cupon code to order? Do you go to Walmart only if you have a cupon for each and every item you are buying? If you can get a better deal else where do it! But don't complain when AG doesn't give you products for under the listed price.

A thread like this always comes up whenever Autogeek has a sale. It gets annoying. Be happy with what AG offers and how much work the whole staff puts in to make things work. Every sale can't be 20% off with no restrictions plus free shipping over a certain amount.
And as Troy mentioned, use the PM function that is readily available on here. It is very simple.

No offense, but there's more to shipping than what you posted. Shipping companies base shipping charges on the 'WEIGHT' of the package and 'WHERE' the package is being shipped. NOT on the price of the package. On the other hand Autogeek's shipping is based on the 'PURCHASE AMOUNT' of the item being shipped, which is what many take exception with. I totally agree, it doesn't cost AG any more to ship a 10lb $20 item than it does to ship a 10lb $200 item. It is ALL about 'PROFIT' for the one's investing in AG. That's the purpose of business.. 'PROFITS'. As consumers we also have options to find the deals that best suit our needs.
Need more proof about profits? In the last 12 months I've seen several coupon codes ranging from 'free shipping' to 15-20% off either reduced or discontinued.
Believe me, from what I've seen with AG the last few years, as it grows, prices on products as well as shipping are constantly increasing. In less than three years I've seen shipping charges increase multiple times as well as free shipping promotions increase from $50 to $75 to $95 to now $125. But overall shipping charges with the shipping companies 'haven't' increased 250% in 3 years. Autogeek has that option to base shipping on what ever method that falls in line with their business goals.
I really would like for AG staff to explain how forum members and newsletter subscribers 'Benefit' from getting emails advertising 'Free shipping on orders over $125 with a particular code when I could spend $95 and still use 'AGO' to get FREESHIPPING. So I'm puzzled as to why they promote these types of specials to us who, as I said earlier, are forum members and news letter subscribers. Sorry but my math skills are too advanced that I would spend $125 to get free shipping when I could get it for $95. It's different when they have the free shipping 'without' a coupon. Then you can use a code for additional savings.
Lastly, I see 'SOOO' many guys getting bashed by others when they post comments that differ from the 'AG Loyalist'. That is so childish. As consumers you have options to shop based on the best 'Value' or the best 'Deal'. There's a BIG difference between the two. Value deals with cost/savings. Deals involve costs, savings, (some times you may spend more) customer service, free items and possibly more. A deal usually consists of several perks that make up a package. To some that's more important than just a value based on saving money. Others just want the best value for their money. That's not a right or wrong situation, instead a personal choice. Obviously 'MANY' on this forum don't understand the difference.

I made no mention of the price of the products in the package, what I was talking about was cost to ship said package, hence UPS says how much it costs to ship package by weight, where and how soon you want it. Now if AG has a shipping rate based on total dollar amount spent, I was not aware of that.

I just opened my most recent car & Driver and the 20% offer is on two of Autogeek's ads.
I wonder what they tell people that phone them up and want to place an order.
Maybe it's only dropped to 10% for us old timers. |
