Wheel Painting

Has anyone here ever repainted wheels, I'm thinking about just repainting my old rims instead of buying new ones, anynody got any advice on the procedure and productsa to use?

Have you considered powder coating them? It's not too expensive and I've seen some rims come out looking really nice.

Did my wheels with dupli-color wheel,coating.......... nice product

Thanks for the link, how did you prep the wheels, did you sand them down first, and if so, what grade sand paper did you use?

I've known a few people that have painted the factory Mustang bullit wheels. They've really come out looking nice. All have use DuPont's spray paints.

They did their homework in the sense of they sanded, primed (if needed) 3-4 coats of paint, and same for CC.

EXACTLY....Prep is key.......i used 240 wet dry then 320 to 400
prepsol, primers then 600 wet -dry finish paper, and the final finish 4 coats paint and 4 C.C. im very very pleaed......


i just prefer the product i mentioned......dupli-color
