I am so mad!

I am so tired. I was up until almost 2 am trying to be the first to sign up for an interview slot through my schools career resources center. The action never opened up to allow me to complete the task. So I got up at 7, thinking maybe it didn't start until normal business hours. NOPE, every single interview time slot was taken. So I am so pi$$ed right now, I basically stayed up until 2 and got up at 6:30 for nothing.......I guess maybe I am just not cut out to get a job. I have been trying for over a year. Anyways, thanks for letting me yell a little bit.

Man, sorry to here that. What field are you trying to find a job in? Is this a permanent one or just for while you are in school?

I just graduated in December and got my Masters in Mechanical Engineering. This would have been a permanent position with a very good company. I can't believe it, and what is worse is I know half of the kids that took interviews won't even show up. They just do it so others cannot have the spot.

If you really want a shot, and you know some won't show up, get ready for the interview and show up in the morning, and just tell them that you are ready if someone doesn't show. You never know!

Gary you sound like my dad. LOL. I know, I am trying to think all these nice thoughts, but I have been looking for well over a year now. It gets so frustrating to bust your arse through school and end up in a lousy job not using my degree. I guess it would be easier to swollow if I got more interview possibilities. Maybe I should just move to Florida and pan handle for AG supplies.

Grimm, I thought about that, but I work full time currently. I guess I could try though.

Are you willing to re-locate? After I finished school I had to leave my home turf for a couple years until I got some experience. Then I went back home.

Just a thought.

Yup, no problems with relocating. I moved most of my life as a kid, so no worries relocating. I am going to try and talk to the recruiter and see if I can sub in if somebody doesn't show up. Thats what the career resource center recommended.

Masters in Mechanical Engineering huh ever think about talking to a Air Force recruiter? See what they have to offer, you may just find what you are looking for in the military. They have civilian jobs as well as active or reserve.
