Re: Your input PLEASE! (For your benefit)

I have an additional question to add on to Corey's ... How many people use the options to change how posts are displayed?

I personally find that expanding the number of posts per page to 30, disabling the picture re-sizing and sorting by newest first give me a better browsing experience. These options are accessible if you click on 'quick links' and edit options. Also disabling auto-subscriptions and instant notification got my email load back under control.

Re: Your input PLEASE! (For your benefit)

I think resolution would matter more than monitor size really, right?

Anyhow, dual 22" W/S, 17", or Moto Droid.

I think the 800 pixel wide is a pretty good size. The only reason I went smaller on my recent interior post is because I knew it would be picture heavy and that's a lot of those little resize tabs to look at. Plus the pics didn't NEED to be any bigger really.

Bill - I use the number of posts per page, but let it resize images. If I want to see bigger, I'll click, but I like the compacted view otherwise.

The more realestate the better.

Laptop w/17", with 22" external connected. (use for daytrading primarily)

Desktop w/dual 22". (use for AG browsing, email, and other personal uses)

When I'm mobile, HTC EVO 4G and iPad (although I'm about to grab an Android tablet and hand-down my iPad)

Bill, where are these preferences you speak of? Forum or Browser preferences?

Re: Your input PLEASE! (For your benefit)

Ya!!!! Thanks Bill! I didn't realize I could make more posts appear per page!! Awesome! Now all of the posts in this thread are on 1 page

So, Bill/Mike. If I post my pictures at any size no matter how large size wouldn't they come out correctly as long as each user controls their preferences correctly?

Bob, good point about the resolution.

I don't know if 'correctly' is the right term. If they are larger than the size the user specifies, they are resized by the website and they get a frame that says something to the fact of 'click to see the full sized picture'.

This makes the page viewable (no scrolling) but it degrades the picture quality a bit to do this. And if you have a large enough screen / resolution, the default options make it annoying to have to click on every picture to see the full sized image.

Hopefully this will increase the awareness of a few of these options.

Re: Your input PLEASE! (For your benefit)

My main monitor has a resolution of 1920x1200. I hate small pictures lol... There are good hi-res LCDs to be had for less than 200$, i dont understand why people still use computer components from the mid 90's...
