It would be my great grandfather who lived from 1890-1990 and actually rememberd the Spanish American War from his childhood experiences in Habana, Cuba. I wish I could talk to him again and ask him all the questions that I wasn't mature enought to ask him while he was still here. Or his son, my grandfather who I loved more than any other man on this earth and even though he passed in 1987 I still miss him terribly. I would just love to see him again and hear his laugh and smell him again. He always smelled so good.

My grandfather was always very sharply dressed and always immaculately clean and smelled good. But even though his pants and shirt would be perfectly ironed he would still pull me up on to his knee and tell me stories and do magic tricks for me. He was always warm and caring and loved kids. My great grandfather (his father) was the same way. My great grandfather would always tell the women to bring the kids into the room and they would sit us down on the floor and my great grandfather would tell us stories all about our family and where we came from and so on. He was a really good story teller and his stories were always exciting or funny and even if you heard that same story a million times you always wanted to hear it again. My aunts and my grandmother and mother would all be cooking in the kitchen and us kids sitting with my great grandfather and grandfather and all the other men and he would have a captive audience telling us stories. It was really nice. I miss those times.
