| Best Redesigned and Affordable 2009 Cars
Let's start a thread about the best redesigned (affordable and practical) new 2009 cars. I'm sure we'd all like to own a $ 100,000 + new car like an Audi R8, but let's be reasonable and list cars that are affordable and practical to the vast majority of us. I'll start by listing my top 4:
1 - 2009 Mazda 6 (my new car) - In the Grand Touring model, it beats its class competition hands down, not only in style, but with features found only in much more costly vehicles, yet still maintains good driving dynamics and affordable mpg ratings. ZOOM-ZOOM !!
2 - 2009 Volkswagen Passat CC - All of the best of recent Passat models, but now loaded with more class and a much sexier profile. German precision.
3 - 2009 Lincoln MKS - If this is the future of Ford, others better take notice - it's definitely not the Lincoln of old. While pricier than the other cars I'm listing, it offers a lot for the money. A business associate I know owns one, and each time I've been in it, I've been more impressed. It is going to surprise a lot of people, if they just get over the Lincoln stereotypes.
4 - 2009 Acura TSX - Sleek new design, luxurious, and sporty driving dynamics make this new design a real winner. Not quite as practical as my other 3 cars listed, but what the heck, it's worth it.

I do think the "starship" concept on marketing around the MKS is a bit much. It seems a bit amateurish and the car deserves a more sophisticated marketing approach.

New CTS is miles ahead of the MKS and outselling it at a nice pace also. The fact that it offers rear wheel drive, or all wheel drive, and three engine choices is a big bonus. It also quite popular in China and now offering a wagon, and coupe as offshoots. The performance handling package and current discounts from GM make this a consideration for anyone considering luxury sport models.
The new Genesis is certainly a strong offering. It offers alot of Lexus and Infiniti options at a terrific price. It does however have no previous heritage and even the manufacturer has gone to great lengths to make sure no Hyundia badges exist. (small emblem on steering wheel)
If I was searching for a new car this year, I would consider the Pontiac G8 GXP as its truly a Holden and well respected outside US. I would also still consider the Infiniti G37X sedan. Its getting a bit older but still a beautiful design and sportpackage with rear wheel drive is a nice offering.
Each on these was revamped within the past 2 years and still a consideration against the new designs for 2008. I would have included Maxima but did not move back to rear wheel drive as hoped. Car is still quite beautiful and driving one with the sports package does provide a strong offering against the competition.

I'm in the new car mode for this year and looking real strong at Cadillac XLR-V . Although a bit pricey I still like it a lot and am sure I will end up with one . I want the V model because of the extra power and a few other options that goes with that . They are limited on color options ,but for me that is Ok as I want a black one and that is one of the available colors . Yeh I know black is tough to keep right, but when done is beautiful and AG has the produts needed to keep it looking good .

For the money, I like the 2009 Acura TL Sh-AWD. I can't wait to see what the Type-S looks like in a couple years.

i long for a infiniti fx 35. they updated the headlights design and added some chrome accents. even after 5 years this design still strikes me as attractive as does the g35 or now g37.

Well, If you want my opinion the 09 Maxima is still under rated, with a few upgrades and enhancement ( performance air intake system, quad crossfire plugs, performance HP chip) I would feel very comfortable about taking on most cars on the road, especially when I busted some jerk at a red light in a souped up Mitsubishi Eclipse........
