    talk about a barn find...

I bet the seller was surprised

eBay Motors: Pontiac : Le Mans (item 110306170567 end time Nov-09-08 20:55:42 PST)

Cliffs: Husband has car and dies, lady stores car, guy aquires car from dead husbands lady. Guy puts car on ebay with a starting price of $500, and a BIN of $4000.

Someone figures out what it is, blabs instead of buying for $4000. The whole internets find out what it is, and it sells for a crazy amount of money.

Car is one of 6 factory race coupes. Car doesnt have any drivetrain or original aluminum front end. Only 1 other known to exist.

one mans trash is another mans treasure. I wouldn't pay $200k for it, but if I had some extra cash lying around I wouldn't mind resoring a piece of automotive history like that.

W O W now there is a treasure, 1 of 6 ever built man that is worth whatever folks are willing to pay. Hemi Cuda's fetch that type of dough and there are more of them then those HD Tempest. Hell I didn't even know they existed.

I guess when you show up at a car show with this you don't have to worry about there being another one there like it.

while they are getting harder to find, there still are some true collectibles hiding out there.

Maybe it is not a BMW or Infinity or something that you care to own but that is a really rare car. That is a car that you will never find again. It was never meant to be a collector or a "high end" desirable car and that is what makes it super expensive. It was meant to be raced a few years and then scrapped.....Look at dodge vipers...they will never be that valuable because they are plentiful. People dont drive them everyday so you will find a lot of them in good shape with low miles. This car may look bad but with a proper restoration it will be worth some serious coin and will be in a lot of high end car shows and will steal the show at Barret-Jackson auctions!
