That's bs...they are just looking for a way to add revenue to car wash owners. And guess what, if I lived in Washington, I'd use Optimum No Rinse!!!
And get all neighbors on that. They ain't getting our money!!!

I have to believe that rinseless washing is going to become more and more the common as the years go by.

Re: Washington State to Ban Home Car Washing?

I live in WA. If it comes between my truck being clean and the fish swimming in a little bodywork shampoo, to me that me that's not an option. I try and be an earth hero by trying to spray and wipe my car when possible, but there's just no replacement for the old bucket and soap.

Re: Washington State to Ban Home Car Washing?

Living in the upper third of Georgia we have been on no hose usage outside for anything for the past two years due to our severe drought. Some year we will out of this drought but I do not see the powers that be letting us use a hose to wash a car again - ever!

The government here had to pass a special piece of legislation so people and communities could fill/refill their pools. Water cops are all over the place.

ONR is the way to go for saving water and is an environmentally friendly product. Win - Win for me.

Re: Washington State to Ban Home Car Washing?

Here in SC we had tight water restrictions all summer. I picked up some ONR and unless I wash a car that is just ckaed in dirt I do not see going back to the conventional wash. I fill up 2 gallons of water in a bucket add ONR then another bucket with gallon for rinsing the ssponge. I pull the car in the garage and wash an noone has to see a thing.

ONR is a fine replacement for traditional washes. You are still using a bucket and ONR as your soap but your not rinsing the residue onto the ground so the envirnomentalists don't start rioting in the streets.

Simple solution . Or getting a drain put in the garage, washing in the grass, etc. FWIW, this is completely different from water bans in the south, I think Washington gets the most rain in the country .
