I certainly hope Autogeek manages to hang on through this mess. The value they offer with their products hopefully will keep the customers knocking on the door. I will do my part as a customer to keep them alive and well.

Wuss, I just ordered a Zonda, figured if I'm gonna lose money might as well get something worthwhile LOL j/k . But that Konigsegathinagamabobber , few years ago guy here had the 1st one in the states, pulled up in black one while I was eating at Mizner, if I recall think it was the owner of Domani Motors, but heard those cars were pos's.

As Scott knows being in finanicials sucks right now, I'm still getting deals done but taking a lot loooooooooonger. But my biz is diversified between Commercial Finance, Venture, and Private Equity. And getting an exclusive with a group here who is one of the few to actually acquire bulk REO packages directly (guys that say they are direct would buy them from a group like my client), so have conference tomorrow on that as I'll handle the financing to acquire the packages while they sell them. And some other business ventures looking into as well. I just want to retire and race hahaha, and find that island Vince was on in Entourage where you live like a king with all the girls etc for $70 a day lol.

But its sad, seeing a lot of small businesses closing, small business is the backbone of this country. Seems only certain places like sports bars are busy, Duffys and Flanigans/Guppies seem to always be packed (which I'm sure Scott knows ) but others like JB's here which had a nice outdoor bar on the beach has been dead. I've held off from any toys at the moment, was about to buy 08' Viper and looking at new house but put money into a few things and reinvested a lot back into biz as I took small equity stakes in a few clients. I've pulled out of the market except for Roth, which took a nose dive this week. I'm younger but I don't fall into that invest aggressively while young, when it comes to stocks/investing in that sense I'm not a big risk taker...hate losing money, and majority off all my stuff was pretty conservative and still took it in the butthole in loses, if I had aggressive investments, think I would have killed someone lol.

Yeah Scott I think your right about holding off on the Kownigsegg CCXR Edition. With only 6 of them being made the price tag is a little much. If I got one it would probably end up with one of those "Was His" license plates. Best case I would be sleeping in the garage with the car. However I would be up to taking good care of all that carbon fiber.


Surfer, It is sad to see a lot of small business owners closing up shop. I sure hope we have it bottom and things start to turn around. Lately there seem to be a lot more investors getting back into the Florida real estate market. Mostly investors with cash.

I think most people are staying optimistic, but the reality is that a recession is probably here. The tanking stock market this past week, the rising cost of commodities and overall fear of the job security is going to clamp down on the economy for the next several years.

Layoffs to follow, higher taxes, "economic stimulus" packages are likely.

I do hope AG will be around for a long time, but you've got to figure that a new building, rising cost of oil will increase their overall costs (products and shipping). Even now as oil prices are going down, shipping costs, food inflation, etc aren't going to come down. Even with great sales, it's got to be cutting into margins. Consumers are changing habits so that nothing will be bought at full price anymore.

Detailing is a great hobby, but if we all have 10 years supply, how much disposable income will be left after food, fuel and housing costs? If your job isn't in a secure field, it could be uncomfortable sooner than later.
