Exclamation Chemical Guys... hmmmmm

I have been doing a lot of research on their products...

They seem very similar to Meguiar's in description and marketing/compound specs -

Their butter wax, and the new spray detailer - and everything else on the site, sounds too good to be true.

***I did have a lot of trouble, and have not been able to date, to locate their business or any facet/address/number of their organization on any BBB website; and they have BBB listed on their home page -- any thoughts?

(They also would appear to be a private label entity, and had a law suit brought against them recently - ... thoughts?)

Re: Chemical Guys... hmmmmm

some of their products are nice, Pete's 53 for awesome beading, Citrus Wash and Gloss, Bare Bones...but have you seen their shipping rates? the'll charge you $50 for shipping on a $200 order, when AG offers free shipping on orders over $75...Plus I seen they raised prices on their waxes, Pete's 53 was $53 instead of 37...I really wanted to try it, but I was so pissed paying Souveran paste price for it (tax and shipping), that I ordered it from Canada...$44 shipped... And JetSeal durability sucks...It sure looks awesome, but having a durability just a bit better then duragloss Aquawax makes it worthless to buy ($40 for 16 oz bottle). I found 4* UPP polycharged giving you same awesome look, and with a much better durability...costs chaeper too...
So unless you are going for products AG doesn't offer, I don't see a big need for them...

I've heard conflicting things about JetSeal. Best thing to do would be to try it yourself. I'm lucky to have a local ChemGuys vendor.

They make a lot of the products for other on-line retailers, I'd say who but I like coming here and don't need the hassle, I've never dealt with them direct, but from talking to them, they didn't seem too interested in my measly order. AG has almost everything I use anyway.

Well the fact is beauty is in the eye of the beholder or something like that. My opinion is just take a look at the wide assortment of products Autogeek carries. If you want durability its here, if you want low cost products that will suffice there here, if you want top of the line its here. Not to mention customer service that is outstanding and cares about there customers. Oh yeah toss in the best forum I've ever been involved with. Great people advice and Meghan. Hey maybe I should work for them.

Re: Chemical Guys... hmmmmm

look up Warner Chemical ... products are private label offerings and most are the beta product (think base) offered to other lines.

Yeah, three thoughts:

1) It seems unusual person would be going through extensive effort of searching through BBB Web sites on vendor that he hasn't done business with. Have you done same for AG and everybody else? BTW, you don't have to go to BBB site to find their address, it is right there on their site or one phone call away.

2) If you are unsure who they are then how liable is your info on alleged lawsuit and what seperates it from malintentioned rumor?

3) If purpose of your thread is not pot stirring and badmouthing behind back what is the actual purpose of your thread?

I am asking because I am under impression common decency and rules of this board do not leave space for something like this.
