i got the 40 because i did alot of research and the 60 and 80g have over heating issues and in some cases you will need a cooling fan for them. the only down side to the 40 is it doesnt play the ps2 games but if i wanted to play ps2 games id by ps2.

unless backwards compatibility is an issue, get the 40GB and upgrade the hard drive to as big as you want, its super easy to do.

Thats just it! I dont have any ps1 or ps2 games at all. I mainly want it for the blu ray. Then the kids can play the games. I would rather get a ps3 over a Blu ray player because your getting a 2 for 1 thing. I will probably get the 40g.I also found out that all of them can play a regular DVD so that's a plus.

I would recommend the 40gb. Iv gone threw 4 80gb's, tons of problems. I just bought the 40gb and upgraded the hard drive to 120gb. Works perfect..

Glad this was posted as I'm getting ready to buy a new TV and a PS3 for the same reason. Blu-ray and games. It sucks that it the 40g isn't backwards compatable, but its not worth it to have it constantly overheating (guessing due to the larger hard drive?).

Really? Damn now I don't want to use my 80gig now lol. I don't play much but I did just buy COD4 and played for 5 straight hours Sunday. What an awesome game.
