| | | Re: Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer OID can play finicky with some LSP's so that could be an issue. Another thing to try is to add a little distilled water to your 17 ounce spray bottle.
I almost always over dilute a concentrated product just a tad and while the 17 ounce is ready to go it could be possible that your certain batch was heavier on the actives.
Hope this helps,

I won't post our correspondence but he suggested that it may be an incompatibility between OID and P21S 100%. He suggested another try immediately following a wash, which I'll do either this Sunday or (due to the holiday) next. I'll report back on my findings then.
Mr. Ghodoussi also very graciously offered to refund or replace the product in question, officially making him a Real Class Act(tm). | I told ya! I had placed an order this Wednesday with David himself and he was a very, very nice guy. He said that he would have it here this Friday. |

| | | Re: Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Did you dilute it 1 part to 3 parts water as instructions state? Just curious. I just got some and haven't used it yet and want to make sure I use it correctly. I also got the Optimum Spray wax, which went on pretty easy and wiped away pretty easily too. Left a nice wet, glossy look---nice stuff!
cancel that......... I just re-read the thread! Sorry. |

| | | Re: Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer I just got a sample of OID in trade and did a quick use. It behaves more like a spray wax so you have to do a little extra wiping to remove it but nothing extraordinary. It is not as light as a true cleaner like ONR or Meg's QD. OID seems to offer less than a spray wax for about the same effort and price so I still plan to go for the spray wax if I want true slickness and gloss enhancement.

| | | Re: Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer use this product on damp car and you will notice immediate slickness and no real ability to buff more than a quick wipe. Likely the additional water is helping the product and really looks nice. |

| | | Re: Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Hi all;
Sorry I haven't updated this thread.
I've done a few more tests with Optimum Instant Detailer: undiluted on dry, clean paint; undiluted on wet, clean paint; diluted 2 OID : 1 H20 on dry clean paint; and diluted on dry, dusty paint.
Diluted was far and away the best. It left no streaks, wiped away clean, and left a nice shine, albeit a little plasticky. It required no buffing like the undiluted version.
David Ghodoussi insisted their quality-control is absolute, so it's probably a stretch to say my bottle of OID was off-formula. Who knows. Either way I prefer the product this way and I'm using it as my daily ID. |

| | | Re: Optimum Instant Detailer & Gloss Enhancer Ok, I just got the concentrated 32 oz. bottle of this and I cut it 3 parts water to 1 part OID as directions instruct. I have no idea why someone would buy the 16 oz. premixed version for 9.99 when they can get the concentrate that makes 1 gallon of the same thing for 19.99 . After using this product tonight, it has moved to the top level of my quick detailer arsenal, right up there with FK1 and one or two others. One or two mists per panel wiped away with a guzzler gave me instant gratification......slickness out the yahoo and gloss were immediately noticeable, especially slickness. It was incredibly easy to use and required the same, if not less, wiping as other quick detailers to a streak free, glossy finish. It wiped away immediately with no smearing what so ever. To say the least, I'm extremely happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to everyone. If you don't like it, send it to me!! Oh, I forgot to mention it smells great too(some kind of bubble gum/candy smell---smells sweet!). On another note, I also got some Optimum Spray wax which I'm equally impressed with----very easy to use with great results. 4 star spray wax was also on my order which was a pleasure to use as well. Both produced and very glossy, slick finish with little effort. All of these are great products!!! Just thought I'd add my 2 cents to this discussion and hope I clarified some things. Get the 32 oz bottle and mix it yourself----8 oz.(1 cup) of OID and 24 oz.(3 cups) of water make 32 oz. of this product which costs $19.99 per gallon----it's a no brainer! |
