I think from a marketing standpoint this is a benefit. If pricing to manufacture rises, and we all know costs only go up, then likely you could remove the free refill offer first without having to jack up the wax to those "other" levels. At 180.00 this wax makes other big dollar offerings look overpriced, but I am sure those spending 500-10000 US on a wax will still offer they "see" something others dont. (I consider what they see is the hole in the wallet). And remember all those "unlimited" refills are figured into their costs also. |

It sounds like some double talk some salesman is trying lay on someone. If you remove a free refil instead of increasing the price a little if the cost of production goes up people are going to see it as the price doubling. As far as you comparing this was to high end waxes currently on the market I really don't have a clue at what you are trying to say. I can say for sure that the current way the product is being marketed only makes me NOT want to try it. That's coming from someone who likes some of the other Wolfgang products. |

the idea of removing the refill to offset rising costs seems a little far fetched to me, yes, prices go up, Souveran went from 80.00 to 85.00 recently, that's understandable, but a price hike that affectively doubles the cost? I'm not seeing it, if production (and shipping costs) to go up like that the whole economy will probably be in such bad shape that most of us will be selling our cars, not buying boutique waxes for them.
Just my opinion.
Personally, I don't care about the marketing, I rarely buy into it anyway, I'll consider the price, the reviews, and any value adds such as free refill(s) and try and make an informed decision. I really am hoping this wax turns out to be worth every penny and then some, it would be good for AG and good for me (and everyone else) so here's to hoping... |

Good for Max to get into the "higher end" market with the fancy packaging, which seems to be the trend. I wish him luck with it and hope someone gives me some |

| | | Re: NEW!! Wolfgang Fuzion Carnauba Polymer Concours Wax! Just FYI this wax comes with a refill, now and for as long as we see. Its not a promo that you get a refill with it, its the way it is sold!
Just like Souveran comes with an Indigo Towel, Fuzion comes with one free refill.
And the price you see is not a promo price, it is the price. Just wanted to clear up some confusion. |

IMHO what higher priced waxes offer is a "placebo effect", psychological component of feeling "special". Just like a high priced handbag is not neccessarily any better than cheaper one, or just like a high priced car is not neccessarily better performing than cheaper one, people buy them because it is an object of desire cleverly marketed to make people feel better about themselves when they acquire it.
Would I personally buy one? No. But I don't buy overpriced pieces of clothing or overpriced cars either. Would others do it? Sure. Whatever makes them happy, it is their money so it is their call what to blow it on, whether it be overpriced wax, or overpriced house, or overpriced clothing, or overpriced car. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
