Cool ready to do my own

I am new to this forum. I would like to start detailing my car myself, I would prefer to do everything by hand, no buffers. I am at this point looking for a new car, prefference is black or dark color. Whats the best stuff to use and how often should it be done?
Thanks in advance

With a dark color car every imperfection are going to show. So the fact that you don't want to use a buffer, might be an issue.
Have you spent much time watching the video clips? I found that very helpful when I first started. Here is a link it might help. Pinnacle Natural Brilliance car care products are made of natural ingredients & modern science! souveran, signature series, carnauba, paintwork
Where do you live? Are you dealing with winter, salt on the roads?
I have been very please with Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze, DP Max Wax, Collinite 845 for winter. So if you can give us a better understanding of the weather you are dealing with, you will get better recommendations.
