I've got to brag a bit, and then I have a detailing question.
I bought this bike a few months ago as a project to keep me occupied while the weather was too poor for detailing. I spent time polishing the rust out and cleaning up the chrome and replacing the parts that couldn't be repaired. I've actually still got some work before it is 100%, but it looks pretty good for a twelve year old bike I think.
I bought some Slick Stixx from Danase.com and that helped clean up the bike a ton. If you haven't ever used those tools, then I strongly recommend them. They are going to make engine detailing a lot easier too. Basically they are rubber coated rods that have different tips that allow you to get into really hard to reach areas. You put a rag on the end of the tips and away you go. Very sweet tool. That helped a lot to get the results I have now.
Most of the chrome was polished with Turtle Wax Chrome Polish, but I did use some Eagle One Never Dull wadding for other areas. I also used Blue Job on the headers to remove some of the bluing that had occured. That stuff rocks if you have damaged headers that are all rainbow colored. You can pick it up on ebay for around $15 shipped. I just bought two more tubs for $20 shipped in fact.

I got such a sweet hookup on the paint job. I built his website back in October and I hit him up in January to see how much he would charge me for a paint job. He said if I would include it in his website then he would only charge me $120 for materials. Anytime you can get a custom paint job for $120 I say you do it.
So my question is how to get the overspray off the seat. Apparantly he left the bike somewhere near the paint booth and I can see white speckles all over the bike. I'm not worried about getting it off anything else, but the seats seem to be a problem. I've tried Leather Stuff, Danase Leather RX, Wolfgang leather cleaner, 4* leather cleaner, Meguiar's #39, and goat urine (ie Lexol) and nothing seems to be working. Before I rub it down with paint thinner, I thought I'd get some opinions here and see if you guys have any suggestions. I've had it suggested that I use a damp rag or applicator and put some laquer thinner or minieral spirits on it, but I'm not sure about that. The material is most likely vinyl, but I suppose it could be leather. What do you think?
