Re: Dressing Or Not?
I will not dress motorcycle tires, even if requested. Clean them really good and stop there. Please take pictures for us!

Re: Dressing Or Not?
I will. Its going to be next week sometime. Im doing his Hayabusa, which I did a mini wash on yesterday, and his Top of the line Nissan Titan, with what I believe are 21's or 22's on it. Anyways He may be my SO's Boss but we are very close and I want to make him proud. To be honest he'll be my fiirst truck too. So far Ive worked on a 98 Honda Accord, 09 Scion T3, and an 03 Mercedes C240. Anyways Im SUPER stoked.
Forget about shoes and jewelry, give me makeup and car wax.

Re: Dressing Or Not?
A safe way to get motorcycle tires looking good is with a dry vapor steamer. Makes the tires look like new.

Re: Dressing Or Not?
I ride, and I have put it on the sidewall before. I use Zaino tire shine, and use it ONLY ON THE SIDEWALL.
Zaino isn't greasy and doesn't sling, but I still buff it out once I'm done to ensure it doesn't "bleed" onto the traction surface.
That being said, I don't use it on my bike's tires, because it's not a show bike, and I just don't want to invest the time for something that gets ridden so often/so hard.

Re: Dressing Or Not?
When I first started detailing I dressed a freinds bike tires. He wiped out two blocks from my house. I've never applied dressing to a bikes tires since that date

Re: Dressing Or Not?
I dressed my own bike. I used a product that has never slung or ran when wet. I ride a cruiser so I don't get into as much lean angle as a sport bike. I just applied product to my applicator sponge, then to the sidewalls of the tires. I try to be extra careful not to get any on the traction area and if I did I just used an APC to wipe it off as much as possible. I also APC my entire tire while cleaning just to make sure the traction area is nice n clean. That may be overkill though.
I don't think I would do it to someone else's bike. I agree with someone above that it is a risk I wouldn't want to be responsible for.
