Its about time I post something.

I thought it was time to finally post something here after looking for so long. I joined this site a long time ago just to read but never posted anything. I was always into detailing my vehicles ever since I had one but never got into the detailing that I have seen here. I have a PC that I use on my boat so I'm going to bite the bullet and get the whole buffing pad kit and use my wife's car as a test bed. I still have a lot more reading to do because I have no idea what polishes/ wases to get the best results. I look forward to reading and posting some pics of my progress.

Thanks for your time,
-CLL

For beginners, its hard to beat the XMT lineup.. Reasonably priced, very user friendly, and they work well from top to bottom.. I'd probably start with XMT 3, XMT 1, and a bottle of XMT 360.. Alot of people here also like the XMT 180 paste wax..

on the xmt line, as for pads, what size backing plate do you have? If you have a 5" plate, get the low profile 5.5" orange pads that is on sale now. Get a couple of white polishing pads also. I bought a kit and don't even use the yellow, green and blue. As far as waxes go, I have not tried xmt 180, but I love max wax and souveran II. Post some pictures, as we all love before and after pictures. Good luck and welcome to the asylum.

Thanks for the advice guys. I think I'll get the XMT products. Is there any other product you all recommend getting?
