Detailing businesses typically don't just take off unless you have a very large advertising budget and appeal to what the the majority of consumers "know about detailing" which is basically nothing. Very high quality detailing like you'll see on a lot of detailing forums is a real niche service that sells only to a small percentage of the general public.
The folks who buy high quality detailing either know what's involved in it, have been beat down by hack detailers, are referred by a friend who had their car done or just happens across a high quality detailer and agrees to the high price that should accompany a high quality job.
It's a tough sell and out of a large amount of people approached, only one or two will be interested in paying for quality.
