Question HYDRO TECH LC pad questions? pc7424 final polish

Well first of all I am new to Autogeek and I would just like to get a better understanding of these particular low profile pads(cyan, tangerine, crimson). I am pretty new at this polishing stuff and I've only had the chance to polish the hood and roof of my car as of now. It looked great actually I was so impressed. I have a black 10 altima and I removed some serious swirls and holograms with just a tangerine pad and 205 # and locked it up with some souveran. I was wondering how to get maximum gloss though!? I used a PC 7424. I only have questions about the crimson and orange pads because I notice how you super detailers do different steps with different pads its overwhelming lol. I was thinking about getting a final polish like 85rd but what pad would be best to use it with?? I hope I posted this thread correctly by the way. Im truly sorry if i didnt, and thank you for your time.

The Hydrotech pads are great and finish top notch. You can get a bit more gloss by running the M205 on the crimson pad but not much. Did you get all the swirling out with the combo you tried?

Yes, it was nice! So is the objective to polishing/buffing is to just remove imperfections from paint? Am I done polishing after that?

I have pinnacle asr and fp but I also had a bottle of m205 because I actually read up on a thread how this guy compared 85rd to 205 and he said the results were similar, only difference was that the 85rd gives you longer working time. Hey anyway that's what I read but im still not sure. Thank you for such a fast reply. This is very cool.

i fully believe that 85rd finishes better than 205, but if you want something even lower to jewel the paint with, you can use something with VERY fine to almost no abrasives on the red pad, then seal/wax over that.

Thats about as much gloss as you will get.

you mean lower as in lower cut? Or are you talking about the product? So I should use some 85rd on the tangerine pad for the highest gloss possible? And what product would be good to jewel with on the red pad??

Also:
-3M Ultrafina was developed for rotary use only...
(Of course some folks use other 'tools'.<<< (To the same "rotary-jeweling-effectiveness")...

-Menzerna PO85RD/4500 was devolped for use with either a dual action or rotary polisher: for the best cutting power.
-For gloss enhancement:
It is said it can be applied by hand.<<< (Don't know how much jeweling that'll getcha, though.)

Man I am confused lol. What is a good jeweling product? So should I use the jewel product with crimson pad and 85rd or 205 with tangerine pad?

Re: HYDRO TECH LC pad questions? pc7424 final polish

I am so curious to know what kind of pads i should have for final polishing. Will crimson pads be a good substitute for gray pads? I was thinking about using 85rd with a crimson pad. After each step of polishing, do you have to switch to a less agressive pad or can you stick with the same type of pad and just switch to a less abrasive polish? For example, lets say i used the tangerine pad with a pretty abrasive polish first, then use another tangerine but with a final polish. Is that a proper technique?
