Hey from Ft Leonard Wood

Hi all my name is Jeremy and I am a SGT in the ARMY and I am currently stationed in Ft Leonard Wood attending the Army prime power school, which doesn't leave a lot of free time at the moment for detailing! I was prior Navy electronics tech for 6 years and then came into the army as a heavy construction equipment operator, FUN stuff but I wanted to go back to electricity!!! I've slowly been amassing a collection of pads, polish, wax, tools etc... and I currently have a makita 9227c rotary which I have used solely with Meguiars 105, 205, ultimate compound and polish along with CCS pads some kompressors and a few meguiars pads as well. . I've had some good results but inevitably a few holograms here and there. I have never used a DA yet but I am leaning toward a porter cable just for the cost vs longevity of it as well as the fact it has a proven track record plus I just read a post about changing the action of the tool for the final polish and how Mike described no one proving they have a hologram free finish with just a rotary. Anyway, my wife thinks I'm obsessed with "car stuff", I don't argue I think she may be right! Looking forward to talkin with some of you I know there are tons of knowledgeable people here both professional and hobbyist that all want to point the new guys in the right direction.

Oh yeah, I have a 2005 BLACK (why did i do that) Grand Cherokee Limited, I sold not too long ago a 2002 Mustang GT with a bunch of mods like 100 shot of nitrous, aluminum driveshaft, 4.10:1 rear gears etc... fun car but kids prevailed!

Any questions feel free to ask !

Jeremy

Hello Sgt. I am a retired first sergeant and currently live in te area of Ft. Wood. As a matter of fact, I retired from there. If you're interested, I have a PC and a Flex. If you want to try either, let me know.

Oh yeah, thanks for your service!

I appreciate that and if I end up with a free weekend I may have to take you up on that. The makita is good but even as careful as I am I still see some hologram effects in spots here and there that weren't apparent right after polishing not bad though as I still finish with 205 or ultimate polish and a soft pad. Im curious to try XMT, Pinnacle, and Chemical guys brand stuff too. What polish do you usually use?

Your Welcome and Thank You as well for serving Top!
