Newbie from St Louis

Been lurking for a couple of days trying to figure out how to detail for myself after recently acquiring my own garage so I can. Seems like a pretty helpful place for info. After detailing car #1 by hand and seeing the vid clips using the Porter Cable, decided to definitely go that route. As a newbie to all of this, leaning toward the PC vs the Megauir model available as a starter. Thoughts? Appreciate any input you may have.

Thanks.

Re: Newbie from St Louis

welcome to AG!!! I have the PC and it's a great route to take vs trying to do everything by hand. Those videos are great aren't they? Never used the Meguiar's machine but it's basically the same concept as the PC. Get the PC along with a few Lake Country pads and a couple polishes, finish off with a good sealant or wax then sit back and admire.

Thanks for the comments...forgot to say Hello!...geez. BTW, noticed that Amazon has a PC 7424 that appears to be the new version that Meghan as talking about the other night...4.0 amp, etc. Anybody know if the new version has been released and if available on AG? AG prices seem a bit lower than Amazon. I'll probably go this route since it has a longer track record than the Meguiar's verson. Thanks.

If you got the money get the flex, otherwise get the 7424.

Re: Newbie from St Louis

did some additional research this weekend. Maguires new machine doesn't look like it has the track record that the PC 7424 has. Think PC 7424 is about to go through an upgrade. FLEX seems like its above both. Why screw around? Think I'll go that way.
