paints ?

Hello all,
I need to paint some accessories for my car, and don't have a clue as to what paint to use. I want the most durable and best looking finish attainable. The color I need is GM's WA8555, which is black. I would also like a good thickness of clearcoat, just in case. After doing some research it seems as though the acrylic urathanes are the best. Any Thoughts?

PS, I have all the equipment, but lack the product knowledge.

I would use urathane. You want the best looking and durable finish? The best looking part is on you. Painting is like detailing, its all in the prep. The most durable part involves the wallet. Get ceramic clear for durability. I use PPG products myself, they have what they call tech sheets. These are nothing more than instruction sheets. This tells you everything you need to know to spray the products, mixing, what grit paper to use , flash times, everything. Take your paint code to your local supply shop and they'll give you a price on everything you'll need.

If you've never sprayed before, take it to a pro! Painting with pro paints (PPG, Dupont, etc), isn't anything like painting with a spray can. It takes time to learn the proper technics.

Also if you're painting new body panels (spoiler, bumpers, etc), you are going to need to blend the paint into the other body panels 90% of the time. This way you get a consistent look.
