| | | New From Western Pa Hi,
My name is Bryan and im new to the detailing world.Im a second year college student so i dont have as much money to spend on car care products as i like. Iv tried all kinds of different consumer products and most recently i bought higher end stuff.today i just received my Porter Cable 7424.a few days ago i ordered some products from autogeek and still waiting for them to arrive.(Pinnacle liquid souveran, Pinnacle advance polish and swirl remover, Klasse All-In-One polish and CCS 5.5" pads). So i plan to do some trial and error to see what works for me. |

| | | Re: New From Western Pa Welcome to AG, if I remember reading correctly Pinnacles swirl remover has a bit of a learning curve so give it time before it's judged. Klasse All-In-One (AIO) has many uses (car and home) great product and easy to use. Any pictures of the ride(s)??

| | | Re: New From Western Pa For the past year iv been washing the cars with gold class soap and useing gold class wax afterward. Some times i use cleaner wax b4 i add the gold class. It was doing fairly well but i did some research and decided to try new things and see what the results are.I enjoy spending most of a saturday to clean either car. Also if i have free time i do drag race. |

| | | Re: New From Western Pa It has a small learning curve from what I've read. That doesn't mean you won't get good results using it. Gold class soap is a good soap, Gold Class wax well it doesn't last long. You'll find quick that after using AIO you won't need another cleaner wax, AIO cleans paint (chrome, glass, gold/silver, etc, ect) better then the average cleaner wax sold in stores. Liquid souveran will look better then Gold Class wax thats for sure.
Love the hood on the Formula and T top very nice.

| | | Re: New From Western Pa Also no dragging for me this stang need to get me to work and back, maybe one day when/if I buy a beater but I like driving the pony around. Besides the nearest 1/4 is 2+ hours away, I do have a 1/8 mile close but it's not the same lol.

Love the hood on the Formula and T top very nice. | Thanks.they didnt make a ram air firebird in 94 so i bought a FG replica hood & ram air intake that makes it functional and seals around the opening of the hood just like the factory set up does.Ya i read alot of good stuff about Klasse AIO.Klasse claims that it can last as long as 6 months but adding souveran will bring the shine out even more. Racing is racing.Iv done auto x before and its deffinetly a blast. If all i had was 1/8 mile id still go.i just love being able to just hammer it down and not worry about cops |

| | | Re: New From Western Pa The 6 month claim is just that a claim (a lot of product claim long lasting protection), AIO should be used as a paint cleaner and not relied on as protection. It leaves a little Acrylic protection behind but not enough to go on it's own. AIO is great for giving your LSP (Last Step Product aka wax or sealant) a good clean surface to "set up".
As far as the mustang I'm saving up to ditch the weak T5 tranny Ford used. After that I "might" take it to the 1/8, but with a weak point and needed the car I won't risk it.

| | | Re: New From Western Pa I plan to add souveran or some sort of carnauba after the AIO. Whats a good long lasting sealant or protectant?and if a sealant is used should the carnauba be added b4 or after the sealant? |

| | | Re: New From Western Pa Hard to say as weather varies from state to state (and soap used, ect ect). A good long lasting wax is Collinite #845 or #915, those two (two coats) can get you 4/5 months. These are hard working carnauba waxes, a good long lasting sealant would be something like Ziano or Klasse High Sealant Glaze (<despite the name most have reported a "flat" look) both after 2 or 3 coats can get you 5/6 months of protection. Klasse sealant is said to be picky though and if not applied thin can be like removing cement off the paint.
Since I prefer using carnuaba I would say go with the collinite waxes (no real reason I just prefer them and there shorter cure times). Quote: |
and if a sealant is used should the carnauba be added b4 or after the sealant?
| Sealant first and wax after (always); Sealant need a clean oil free surface to cure (AIO gives you that), sealants also need 12-24 hours to properly cure in between layers or being toped with a wax. There are product out there that can accelerate the curing process for sealant. But to keep this simple and not to confuse early on, lets just say sealant need 12-24 hours of cure time before a second coat can be added.
