    Mobile Guys - Big Trailers

I'm just getting started, and I have pretty much all of my supplies rounded up and equipment. I have a big shop that I can do major stuff in, but I live a bit too far out to do basic detailing, and I don't want to pay rent in town.

My delimma is that I own a nice 8.5'x20' car trailer already, which I use for picking up cars that I fix and sell, as well as transporting my Factory Five. So, I need the trailer.

I'd like to avoid buying a second trailer, so I'll be using the big trailer to haul around my detailing supplies, pressure washer, generator, etc. plus about 50gallons of water.

My question is do you guys think this is going to be a huge pain? My area is pretty big, and I'm not in an urban environment, so getting the thing around in town isn't a big deal. I'm a little concerned about driveways, and that sort of thing though.

The one advantage is I could actually pull a small car into the trailer to work on it if I needed to, and it creates it's own shade as well.

    Thoughts?

Personally Dave I think a large trailer is going to be a PIA to haul around all the time. For some reason, I'm getting the impression it's all open which isn't desirable for hauling everything you'll need for detailing....

It's an enclosed car trailer like this:

Definitely plenty of room in it, more than I need for this purpose. It also has a ramp on the back door.

I'm trying to decide if it's a $1700 problem (the cost of a smaller enclosed trailer.)

Sounds like it might be a pain to haul but, I get the impression it is enclosed.

Way too big....my opinion though. I pull a 5x10, V-nose, which adds about an extra foot. Almost too big, but I want to be set up for 1-10 cars a day.

If you are pulling around a big trailer you are probably pulling it with a truck right? Just use the truck bed.

I purchased a 5x8 V nose for my set up

Perfect size for pulling in about anywhere.

Considered a 5x10 but w/ a Subaru Outback I didn't want to over do it on weight when I'm loaded up.

I pull with my Yukon XL Denali. If it weren't for the generator, I might just use it, but it's way to nice to be loading it up with junk.

I'm seeing some trailers I can pick up new (not many out here, everyone uses them) in 5x8 and 4x8 for $1700 or so. Might be worth the investment.

I've towed my 32' travel trailer about 40000 miles in the last few years, so I'm pretty sure I could go through a drivethru with a trailer, but this one might be too much.
