    Coating ?

I have 4 vehicles that ive paint coated with DP paint coating this past winter. My job doesn't give me time to detail my vehicles till Dec thru Mar when im off. I am very pleased with the coating but don t want to wait 2 yrs to recoat my trucks and cars. my ? is if I recoat every yr what steps do I take to recoat each yr? I wash, clay, polish, and recoat. or do I have to compound after claying then use polish and recoat. My vehicles paints are in excellent conditions as they all are daily drivers and get washed once a week.

I guess it comes down to the swirls in the paint, surely there's some going to appear over time and you don't wanna seal them in, so a light polishing is probably going to be in order I would think.

So do you think I just need to clay and polish to remove yr old coating on my vehiches and can skip the compounding step?

I think that's a good plan. Most coatings are less than one micron thick. A couple passes with a light finishing polish will remove that no problem.

To extend the coatings performance you could also use PBL Coating Booster. Just another option until you are ready to polish and recoat.
