Here's my list of purchases... Am I missing anything?
I will buy a GG6 package today! I need to buy a bunch of other exterior detailing stuff, too, and I'd really appreciate product suggestions from the many experienced detailers in this forum, including comments on what I'm already planning to use.
Below is my list of steps and products. I either have it, or need to BUY it, or am looking for SUGGESTIONS.
My plan is to do all 3 steps on my DD (silver 2007 Honda CRV), in order to learn, before proceeding to my other cars.
I already have buckets, grit guards, wheel & tire brushes, and microfiber mitts/towels/hand application pads.
* Will BUY GG6 HD package w/ BP, LC CCS (2 white, 2 gray, 1 blue), Pinnacle Pad Conditioner, Pad Cleaner. (HOPING I CAN SWAP THE 6 INCH FOR THE 5 INCH SET-UP!)
* Additional LC pads - (BUY) 2 orange, 2 black, 1 blue.
- (QUESTION: Are flat pads best for newbies? Should I avoid CCS?)
* Pad Cleaning Brush - (BUY)
* Wash Wheels (alloy wheels w/ machined finish) - Sonax, Detailer's Pro series wheel cleaner - (BUY) Iron-X (BUY)
* Polish Wheels - (SUGGESTIONS?)
* Wash Tires - Back to Black Tire Renew
* Dress Tires - 303
* Wash car - Meguiar's Gold and Iron-X - (BUY)
* Clay (Mother's fine, CG medium and Heavy)
* Clay Lube - CG Luber
* Compound - Meg 105 - (BUY)
* Polish - Meg 205 - (BUY) and Meg Mirror Glaze #9 Swirl Remover - (BUY)
* Paint Cleaner - Menzerna Top Inspection (BUY)
* Glaze - (SUGGESTIONS?)
* Paint Sealer - (SUGGESTIONS?)
* Wax - Meg Ultimate Wax Paste
* QD - Mother's California Gold Showtime
* Black Exterior Trim - Mother's Back to Black
Thanks for reading, and thanks also for any comments and suggestions.

My Honda's wheel have a machined finish under a clear coat. If yours are that way, you can use the same polish as the paint.
* Wash Tires - Back to Black Tire Renew
* Dress Tires - 303
You can use APC to clean tires, or I like Tuf Shine's tire cleaner (but it is expensive.) IMO, 303 is terrible for tires and trim; I only use it on the interior. If you want long lasting, no sling, and a nice sheen (not too shiny), I like Tuf Shine Black Restore.
No need for a glaze; that's really for old non-clear-coated cars.
* Paint Sealer - (SUGGESTIONS?)
* Wax - Meg Ultimate Wax Paste
Despite the name, Megs UW is a sealant. You can apply wax over sealant if you want, but personally I think it's unnecessary.
* Black Exterior Trim - Mother's Back to Black
Doesn't last. As I said above, Tuf Shine Black Restore works well on both tires and trim.

Much appreciated! Thanks for the info on the wheels, for your insight on the products I have, and your suggestions. I'll be giving APC & Tuf Shine a try.

What he said, Definetly avoid mothers. I bought some and absolutley hated it. Ended up giving it to the dealership cause it would barley last me a 2 weeks.. Another good sealant is Blackfire Wet Diamond.

Thanks for the tip about the Mothers. I had tried some on the trim of my wife's Rogue, and two days later, it looked as if I hadn't touched it. I figured I'd applied it wrong.

Mike Phillips just posted a review of Solution Finish. I haven't tried it, but it sounds good: Review: Solution Finish Plastic & Vinyl Restorer

Thanks for the link. That's an amazing result! My CRV is nowhere nearly as bad as that Avalanche, thank heavens.
