Change of mind on selling 3401

I just polished a mazda cx5 using my 3401 and opt polishing pad. Light scratches was removed and the finished is great. I think i will not sell my 3401. And will have my pcxp for back up. Still, just 4.25in pads for the entir jobe

3401 is pure gold in car polishing; some people get confused because of correction power it has comparing to G110 and the like.

There is no substitute for 3401 (in its class) on the market .. imo.

I think you're making a wise decision!

Several folks whom I've spoken with are somewhat uncomfortable when first using the Flex 3401. It's quite a bit different that the Porter Cable style polisher, more powerful, larger, different feel but it works an area much faster...

Very quickly we become accustomed or very used to things and we don't like change. Don't worry, it's a natural thing but it's a side affect of being human, it's our comfort zone and none of us likes venturing outside of it...

I often use the 4in pads for the 3401. Seldom
Use bigger than 4in for pcxp and 3401. Time will tell if im gona sell my pcxp

My Porter Cable 7424 is the first generation and is 14 years old....not a single issue..



Once I started using my Flex 3401 I found it "different". I sort of forced myself to use it more and the rest is history. 6 1/2" diameter pads are the largest I use, I guess I like working with smaller sides...

While my Porter Cable 7424 still sees a lot of use, it's primary role these days is applying sealants and waxes....

I want to simplify my tools. More of a Hobby ��. I'm thinking of an all in one tool. Compounding, polishing, jewelling and lsp. I think 3401 will do. It's also on the technique and getting to use to. If you master the tool then thats it.

Have you tried jewelling the paint using 3401? How about soft paints?

If you don't get a lot of bad full correction cars, is the flex a more solid option over rotary?

When using it with mf pad, It has better correction capability than rotary and better finish imo

IMHO, yes. I think it's just more versitile.
