Re: New LC Flex Plate system

You lost me somewhere. I understand the 4" plate for a 4" pad (although I'm not sure why it isn't 3-3/4 or 3-7/8). But you show the std. plate which is 5.5" with what I presume was a 6.5" pad. Then you put the 6" plate on, and say to use that with a pad with 6" of loop...which is a...6.5" pad.

Or are you suggesting the use of a 7 or 8" pad with the 6" backing plate? I just don't see the advantage of the 6" plate...it would be different if putting your base on allowed a quick change between your new 4" and 6" plates, but I still have to unscrew it just like the standard Flex plate...so it would make more sense to me to just use the standard 5.5" Flex plate and your new 4" plate, but as I understand it, I can't buy the 4" plate by itself.

More pad support with the 6" plate with 6.5" pads. Not much more, but there is. I think it will give eevn better control.

Re: New LC Flex Plate system

The 4 inch plate is for 4 inch pads and bigger. The 6 inch plate, was shown with a 6.5 inch pad, which has 6 inches of loop.

Re: New LC Flex Plate system

At our Detailing Boot Camp we had Flex 3401 Polishers set up with both 6.5" pads and 4" pads for everyone to test out on the 1949 Chevy Carryall...

You can see Robert at the very front buffing the nose out using a 4" pad on the new 4" adapter plate system.

I have come to the conclusion that Mike Phillips has a picture for almost everything.
