You are welcome! It is great to hear PowerHouse is setting you up with new bp. However, I do not feel like they suggested that light-weight oil should be a solution. I feel that those two parts should not be touching to start with. If they are touching oil with get transferred onto bp and bp will fling that oil all over the car and the shop. If I hate polish splatter I would hate oil splatter even more.

I've not had any issues with the oil getting on the car. Be sure to only use a very little amount of oil. It may come out onto the white part of the BP, but after a couple of uses, I've seen no evidence of the oil causing any issues.

I thought i was one of the lucky ones but, after doing about 10 cars my backing plate melted and the felt ring stuck to it. I check to make sure its tight before i use it everytime ,why now after 10 cars? Who do we go thru to get a new one? What are they doing to correct it?

Call Powerhouse Dist 1-888-809-4749 , I spoke to Dave he's sending me out new BP with new Felt ring also informed me to saturate felt in light weight-oil.Give a call, Great customer service I'm sure they will take care of you and send you new one out.

i was told to do the light weight oil also but IMHO that is not an acceptable fix!
