All you guys that already got your flex

Do these work with the new backing plate? CCS foam buffing pads,foam polishing pads,lake country foam pads,foam polisher pads,buffer pads,lake county pads,porter cable pads,pads for air sander

I agree that using a 51/2in pad on a 51/2in back plate does seem a bit close to the edge, but if it were used only on the more flat areas avoiding the upturned corners I can't see the harm. Most of the times I get into those areas I try to do them by hand. I'm open to thoughts on their use as was about to order the the 5 1/2in. CCS Smart pads for my Flex and if there is a real reason I should stay away from them, I want to know.

As these seem to have velcro edge-to-edge you are either not fine with edge of pad getting close to surface regardless of whether backing plate is smaller than pad or not, or you will deal with that and in that case you might say "I will deal with backing plate being to the edge too". It's purely dependant on your comfort level.

I got the 6.5 inch pads and trimmed them down a bit to reduce vibrations.
