I bought a gallon of the DP Sealant last month and couldn't be happier with the product.
The stuff is not like wax in that you need to really rub it in, but more like cake frosting,

. You just wipe it on in a very thin coat. Let it sit about 45 minutes or an hour then rub it off. Remember, a thin coat goes a long way and is much easier to wipe off when the time comes.
Now comes the tricky part, don't let your car get wet. Don't let it get rained on or let the morning dew hit it. I suggest that you seal your car in the morning if possible letting the sun keep it dry. The next morning you should be able to put another coat on. I've read here at AutoGeek that you can "stack" DP Sealant, meaning that the second coat will go very nicely onto the first coat.
Another trick I've learned is this: If you get sealant on your rubber gaskets or black plastic parts, wipe it off immediately. I carry a 12X12 microfiber towel in my back pocket and when I get some DP on the black stuff, (I always do), I wipe it right off. If the DP stays on the black plastic you have clean it off with peanut butter or some such crazy concoction later on because it will put a nasty white haze on it. You can get the white haze off but it's a pain in the you know what.
Regarding winter...I live in south Florida, but I lived in Maine for 42 years, I have no idea if it will work all winter up north, but I doubt it. I have a feeling that the DP Sealant will stay put longer than anything else out there though. I suggest that on the first day you have temps over 45 you re-seal. (Of course in Maine 45 degree days between December and March are very, very rare.
Bonus Trick: Up north, when you finish using your hose and winter is approaching, be sure you drain it before coiling it up. If you don't the water will freeze and even if the temperature is 50 degrees you still can't wash your car because the hose is frozen solid with a 50 foot Popsicle inside it.
Good luck!!!
