| | | new spray sealant? Howdy everyone. Haven't been here in a long time but noticed that there is a new DP Spray Sealant avaliable. I've got about 1/2 gallon of the old formula and was wondering exactly what is the difference between the old and the new? I like the old formula so....is this new formula that much better? Maybe not necessarily better but what is to be expected from the new over the old.
Thanks for your help. |

| | It's brand new and just came out this week! I will be doing a side by side comparison test of the new and old formulas and I will post my results. I'm sure others will be chiming in real soon with the results as they use it.

| | I put DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant (old formula) on my wife's Quest. I have not topped it with a carnuba, instead I'm thinking of just maintaining the DP sealant. To maintain it, do I need to reapply every few months or can I use the new DP Spray Surface Shield Paint Sealant? If I can use the spray sealant, does it have to cure 12 hours before getting wet?

To my knowledge their is no new spray version of the original spray sealant (see above). Recently the Shield Shine was updated to a formula with more gloss and better durability. DP also offers a canauba based finishing spray that can be used over their sealants. |

| | | Right, but does the new spray sealant require the same curing time?

Says you need 12 hours of cure time. It's oxygen activated. The customer took it home due to incoming rain and garaged it.

| | | Thanks Alban, so I guess the advantage is just the easier application of the product on the car.

| | | I was wondering the same thing, Reddwarf. The spray-on DP Sealant is used like a QD. But the regular wipe-on needs 30-45 minutes to dry before buffing off. So is one better than the other? I guess you've only used the wipe-on version.
