Anyway, taxes just wind up being another factor that you have to weigh in online shopping in trying to get the best deal. Sure beats driving from store to store looking at prices!
I have yet to pay shipping on an order from AG. Most of the time, I get free shipping and then tax will just charge me what shipping would. I know that AG doesn't get the money, but I still hate taxes lol.

I kind of think that the gas I would've spent looking for the items at the cheapest price locally negate the tax on AG orders. Not to mention the tax I would've had to pay locally.

I don't know why you're complaining. In Knox County, TN (where I live), the state sales tax is 7%. The local sales tax is 2.25%, bringing the total sales tax in Knox County to 9.25%.

Re: Check your tax amounts in checkout

California attempted to bully non-California businesses into collecting their taxes for them. They were generally told to piss up a rope.

Now Amazon has been forced to collect sales taxes for California.

And in the first month of this new practice they have lost ten of millions in sales due to California residents finding other places to buy. Remember, that in California the tax adds ten percent to the price.

Result?

Amazon is closing all it's in California offices and moving out of the state. Then they won't be collecting California's taxes for them either.

Just another incredibly dumb ass move from California.

Pretty soon there will be no revenue to collect here, at all.

Well, that clears up this episode of "check your tax amounts". That is exactly what I am being charged is the 7% (6% w/additional 1% county tax)... and I thought we the American people were supposed to be the "United we Stand" country, at least that's how I remember the lyrics.

Sorry for the alarm and no need to make any phone calls. Thanks Nick.
