So technically you're also not beating any other competitors since I'm buying from them cheaper (overall).
Also my most recent parcel post shipment from the west coast came in 1.5 weeks!
So, In cases like mine where shipping costs are outrageous, and we dont mind waiting a little longer and not having tracking, you should allow parcel posts. I made it known to the person I spoke to that I didnt mind the wait or not having the ability to track. I have also mailed and received over 40 packages parcel post and have never had a problem. |
From my experience with shipping things, having a tracking number/insurance is just as much for the seller's peace of mind as for the buyer's. There are people out there who will swear up and down that they never received a package, and there's no way of proving that without a tracking number. The post office can put a trace on packages but it takes weeks for that process.
Also, you keep saying that you're having stuff shipped from the west coast and that's it's cheaper. Doesn't AGO ship from the east coast, therefore making it more expensive right off the bat? |

I would have agreed to not hold them at fault should the package be lost assuming they'd keep a receipt for backup. Quote:

I've also shipped personal items parcel post from NYC to here. Longest been 3 weeks, most arrive in under 3 weeks.
Just saying, not trying to pick a fight. Nick said they'll do it any way we like it, unfortunately I was denied and wanted to say so - in case that my previous experience was mistake. I'd love to order gallons from here, I already order stuff from here every few month.. just smaller things that I need less of.

I must say that Nick didn't necessarily say they will do anything (have to read the entire post to fully get what he's saying). He first states that they ship UPS, FedEx, or USPS and that all you have to do is tell them which you prefer. To me that means you choose between those three services, not any possible shipping service offered to mankind.

Parcel post is offered by the United States Postal Service (USPS). Not some 3rd rate shipping company. Any post office ships parcel post if you ask them too. Its the cheapest way to ship items larger than flat rates boxes.

I have also mailed and received over 40 packages parcel post and have never had a problem. | With as many packages that leave our warehouse on a daily basis, we need a way to track them and they also must be insured. Without a tracking number, we have no way of making sure that you received the package. That is why parcel post is not offered as a service.
Plus, with the discounts and promotions we offer, the savings make up for the additional shipping cost in most cases. If you order $100 worth of stuff that's being shipped to Hawaii and you use a 10% coupon code, you save $10 right there. It's not uncommon for us to have 15% or even 20% off sales. Don't forget about our price or promotion match policy either.
If you have a question about a shipping method, give us a call or send us an email before you place your next order.

Dear xxx,
We are writing in reference to the order you placed with us. Please note that your order has oversized items and will require additional shipping fees. We would need additional shipping fees in the amount of $ 139.00 before releasing your order for shipment.
| Just to show u guys, i'm not squabbling over $10-20 here. I dont know many people who would throw away $139. Parcel post would have shipped ALL of this less than $50.

So then don't purchase from AG if the shipping isn't fair for you. It's pretty simple man. Yeah it sucks, but if it isn't fair for you don't do the deal....

Jrs1418 -
Thanks for the info, I live in the New England area and shipping is usually not a problem for me BUT I once found a part for my car at a New York warehouse (three hour drive from me) and they wanted almost $40 for shipping! It was a small interior part btw, a switch pod if I remember right.
Shipping is almost as important as low prices, and I will certainly pay more attention now.
For anyone criticizing this guy, he can shop elsewhere, and you can read/reply to another post.
