Free Website Design.

This offer goes out to those that are challenged by the coding and designing of a website and have a website in need of a redesign.

I'm offering a free "custom" website design for one detailing company based on the following parameters.

• Design will be limited to 4 HTML pages
• You must already have an existing online website (you will be responsible for hosting the finished design)
• Your photos must be good quality (no phone photos)
• HTML only website for this offer (no flash)
• Although we invite input (favorite colors, your own text etc), we would be unable to discuss the majority of graphic design decisions.
• You will be free to use the website, provided our small company URL link is left intact.
• You also have no obligation to use the design; we will, however, use it in our portfolio.

Why am I offering this? I'd like to start a "before and after" section for my own online portfolio.

I'll choose the free website design winner based on photo quality (the better the photos, the better the finished design will look) and need.

The design will be done between my other projects, but I'd expect a two week turnaround.

Email your website name and one photo example to info@bigredcrayon.com by end of day May 12th. I'll check all the sites and email the winner within 2 business days.

This is very kind of you. I'm having a devil of a time trying to design mine to look right. 5 months I been working on that stupid thing Sometimes I feel by the time I launch my site it'll be time to check in the retirement home

I understand that completely

I could do my own taxes for example but, its not really my specialty, so I use an accountant. It saves me at least 4 weeks of messing around, having to learn new deductions/limits for each year, filing incorrectly etc.

A piece of advice I was given a long time ago was "concentrate on what you do best and for tasks that aren't your specialty, hand them to someone else."

Instead of doing taxes I complete more websites and earn more money and because the accountant knows tax returns, its filed correctly with all the right deductions to maximize possible refunds.


If you look at your website issue that way. Why waste 5 months getting frustrated with no results and no website, when a designer can get a professional custom design online in under two weeks.

Time for New Image to get a New Image

The competition winners free website design was finished last week.

I didn't think NewImages website message and excellent photography could be done justice if confined to the original competitions 3 page allocation so in the end we decided to design 8 pages and implement a lightbox gallery. We wanted to keep the design, simple, easy to read and navigate and to have splashes of color coding used throughout to pop the design.

The site naturally included photographic images from their current site to showcase their work.

Sadly Weebly who host NewImages current website do not allow 3rd party custom website designs to be used with their CMS and web platform, which was important so that NewImage could continue to upload their images and make site updates..... So due to Weeblys platform restrictions, we couldn't put the website online for NewImage


I thought id post one page of the finished result though, just so other AGO members who sent us emails about web design can see the "before and afters" of what we designed as a custom site improvement over 7 days.

You guys did a fantastic job and i was truly disappointed that weebly had these kinds of restrictions.

Good news is my mom is now working with Big Red Crayon and they are doing a fantastic job putting something together for her. So in the end i say this was a win-win for both of us!!!
