| Re: Diamondite - what are the differences
I've been using GlassWork Shield for years. I like the ease of application and I like the effect, but those effects can wear off after an hour or two of driving in the rain. The thing that I like best about GlassWork Shield is that it reduces or eliminates wiper blade skip and that rubberized squeegee squeaking sound that drives me nuts. But that only lasts for an hour or two of driving in the rain. (For reference, I use this product on new vehicles whose windshields are in good shape and with wiper blades that are less than 6 months old.) So GlassWork Shield is easy to apply, but you'll have to apply it frequently.
So my question for this somewhat old thread is how long the poly-shield will "lubricate" the windshield and whether that effect wears off quickly in the rain.
Thanks

And to follow on to my post right above... I HATE RainX on windshields because I find that it actually increases wiper blade skip and squeak, so I would only use it on side or rear windows. You would think that RainX would be good at "lubricating" the windshield, but it made things worse on my BMWs. Maybe it's just the OEM wiper blade, but I went through a lot of effort to remove RainX from my windshields after foolishly experimenting with it. That's no easy task if you've never tried removing RainX (two or three applications of Diamondite Spray Clay did the trick.)

If you are looking for something good on the windshield try putting Cquartz on there, you don't need to turn on the wipers in the rain, it's good stuff!

Cquarts has a high gloss shine, would this cause any unwanted glare for your windshield because its glossy?

I would never put a paint protectant like Cquartz on the windshield. They might make the water bead, but waxes and synthetic paint sealants actually increase wiper skip and squeaking, which was the problem that I was trying to address.
The only thing that I've found that actually reduces wiper noise and skip is Diamondite shield. Unfortunately, it wears off after an hour or two of driving in the rain.

I have had good results with stoners invisible glass and there invisible glass with water repellent. My only problem is the the one with rain repellent doesn't clean as good as the regular one, so i use it first and then follow up with the one with rain repellent. Works great and last a lot longer then rainX ever did.
P.S. i wash my truck weekly and it holds up great without having to reapply for multiple washes.
