    Wax Or Sealant on Boat

Hello, I have an Alumacraft Fishing boat. I am wondering what would stand up better in fresh water....a sealant or wax

Alumacraft paints their boats with automotive products..

"Our boats are painted in the same base-coat/clearcoat process and colors used by major auto makers."

    I have a lot of products....Poli-coat, colinite #845 , # 476
WGDGPS just to name a few....or Is there a product that would work better ? Not looking for better looking but Longer Lasting.

    Thanks,
    Mike

I've never used it...but from what I have read the colinite 845 is very durable. You could also use one of the permanent sealants...opti-coay 2.0, EXO, etc.

Re: Wax Or Sealant on Boat

I don't see why 845 or WGDGPS wouldn't work well. WGDGPS lasted about 8months on my truck which is outside 24/7, and by lasted I mean water beaded to some extent.

This spring I did DG 501/601/105 on my waverunner and my dads boat. I haven't seen the boat since I did it, but my waverunner is holding up very well. Finish is very slick, even when its dirty. The waverunner is black and I've also noticed fewer water spots than in the past.

Will your boat be in the water 24/7, on a lift, etc..?
