Plastics Restore for Motorcycles / 4 Wheelers / Golf Carts

I'm looking for some recomendations for chemicals, cleaners, protectants, anything that will help bring back the shine in unpainted plastic parts on 4 wheelers, motorcycles, and golf carts! Also something that will help remove, cover up, or hide light scratches. Not sure whats all out there for the plastic market. Bring on the suggestions!

Thanks,
Eric

K, so I did some searching on Google and came up with this:

1:18 the dude says the plastic is starting to melt a little bit... According to some of the comments it only lasts a few hours to a few weeks max. I'm not sure I would risk permanent damage (melting) of the trim with this technique when you can use something like Solution Finish or C.Quartz Dlux for safe and basically permanent results.

Might have to give the heat gun a try... but seems a little hit or miss... any other good chemicals or methods out there?

NO WAY would I ever use a heat gun! Especially near paint. Guy's nuts! There are plenty of products out there with proven results and 0 risk.

For dierbikes and ATV's, there's a product called plastic restore, you pretty much sand down the plastic then buff it out. For me it isn't worth it, ill get scratches the next ride. When the plastics get bad enough I just replace them. Until then after every wash I put some plastic protectant, makes the bike wash easy and hides scratches.

Re: Plastics Restore for Motorcycles / 4 Wheelers / Golf Carts

What you need to do is dye the plastic to get it the shade you want; i.e. restore it. These other solutions are temporary. I'd clean the plastic trim thoroughly, then go with a dye. Once set, then you can use the products found on AG that will maintain it and protect it. I have an old Volvo 850 that has a lot of plastic trim pieces that have faded over the years. On some of the forums members have mentioned using a product called "Showroom New." Here's a link: Care Care Products, Car Dye, Car Treatment, Car Restoration

Everyone that's used it has said that it lasts. I have a bottle, but have yet to use it on my DD. Once I do, I'll probably post my experience with it, as this seems to be an ongoing query on the forums.

This one looked promising when I saw it on BOGO. I didn't bite because I already had a bottle of the Showroom New.
