| Detailing a Harley with flat paint
I'm detailing my Dad's Harley Sporster this weekend for his birthday. It has flat paint, black and green, and I'm not sure how I should go about it. I plan to wash it with ONR and of course hit up all the chrome bits, but the painted areas I'm not sure what to do with them. I was honestly just going to clay and wax it as I don't think a polishing it will really do anything. I'd appricate your input in this.

Unless there are any deep RIDS or something that you can see i dont see any reason to polish. With out the reflectivity i dont see how you could see any swirls.

On a bike that has flat paint, you don't want to do any rubbing that's not necessary. Rubbing the paint will cause the flat paint to turn shiny. If you tend to rub harder in some spots more than others, you will have dull and shiny areas of the paint.
Be real careful as to what wax you use. Flat paint isn't exactly smooth so you can end up with "white" areas where the wax has embedded into areas of the paint.

Read the owner’s manual. The HD owner’s manual states exactly what to use on the denim (flat) paint. Believe it or not, the owner’s manual states to use Dawn when washing the denim tins. I know, because I owned one that I recently sold.

I am with everyone else... Rub the flat paint as little as possible. Don't know of any polish/wax/sealant meant for flat paint.
Those products are meant to bring out the shine in paint and will defeat the idea of flat paint.
Maybe iceman has something that will help, but he mentioned a cleaner
Good luck with the paint and nice new toy.
