Polishing Windows

I've been a lurker for some time now but finally plan on doing a nice detail on my truck this weekend. 97 GMC sierra Z71. It's been used as a truck so I don't plan on it being perfect but want it as nice as it can be. I notice every time I clean my windows there's some waterspots that are barely visible but never go away. I've read in the past that there are window polishes that can remove this and bring back a great clear look to the windows. Just wondering if there's any that are available at an auto parts store or what some common brands are for them. I want to get this done this weekend so I don't have time to order from AG right now. Thanks

Hm... where are you located?

Depending on your location, I can't think of any OTC products that would helo you, except for maybe Meguiars' Scratch-X or perhaps even Color-X. I can't promise anything though for I havn't used any of these. DP Glass Restoration or any of the Diamondite products would clear your windows up nicely.

Many on here have had success with #0000 steel wool and an AIO like Klasse AIO; PB PwS; Poli-Seal.

I used some XMT 1 and AW on my windshield and it worked pretty good....

I used Pinnacle Swirl Remover to get some water spots off my van windows caused from my sprinkler system. An OTC polish might work on removing the water spots. I wouldn't use anything to aggressive or you may end up maring the windows.

try toothpaste ... works in a pinch. Get some Plexus, or DP Plex-all and use on glass religiously. Works better than rain-x and wipers wont chatter.

Becareful with some polishes, some poeple have used agressive polishes and ended up marring the glass from the abrassives. I had some tough as nails to remove water spots and could only get AIO and #0000 steel wool to work. I finer polish like maybe SSR1, or XMT 1 etc, maybe even OP might work? never tried

Etched spots are a beotch to remove.
