clay bar use

Good morning all, I am considering claying my car for the first time. Used klasse twins about 5 months ago on new car. Can I clay if I only polish by hand? Checked out the threads but not sure exactly what's the best grade of clay I should use. Thanks for any advise.

I think if you use a fine grade clay, it would be find to polish by hand. Clay grade would depend on the condition of the vehicle. That said, poly-clay gets rave reviews here! Am I wrong guys?

polishing by hand will offer limited success, but claying is always a good choice. It will help to remove some surface contaminents. Use lots of lube and allow the clay to tell you areas needing help. Never grind clay into the paint, but allow it to glide as possible.
