Polish Work Time

You experienced PC guys talk about longer work times for a polish being a good thing. Why is that? It seems to me that it would be better if the polish did its cut and broke down faster.

A strongly lubricated polish such as Optimum or the Pinnacle polishes equals a beter result. THis is so because the long work time allows you polish an equal surface, not having only a small amount of time before the polish dusts, causeing you to have to use more polish and not getting the area polished equally. This would end up leaving some fine swirls or more on the car.

the longer the work time, the more heat you can build up. the more heat, the better the paint correction. XMT is a very good choice for this...

It allows them to work long and break down properly and bring a finer finish
