Polish too Long

Is there a damaging downside if you keep buffing after the polish is "broken down"?

I think that if you use a heavy polish or compund and abbrasive pads, it might dissapear your C.C. I could be wrong....

I would agree with Bigfoot. Buffing too long on the same spot with a harsh pad will eventually start degrading the clear coat...

That and the abrasives can actually cause scratching in the CC with a heavy cut pad. So I've been told.

i have been told you can actually polish the paint off the car and get down to metal. never seen but read it on some detail forum a few years ago. not sure how true that is
