P21s wheel Cleaner and DG Aquawax

Got some AG stuff in the mail some days ago

like this stuff:



So the most normal thing to do, was to go down to the washing bay, and try some of it out.

The plan was: P21s wheel cleaner
DuraGloss Aquawax
EZ wheelbrush

The ShMitts is 1 all white and 1 interior, so i used my "regular" w/y and black, am saving the all white for the summer. Interior ShMitt gets some work next week.

OK, down to the washing bay it went, and somehow i mangaged to forgett the EZ wheelbrush at home, so ill tell you later how it is/was (im getting old)

But.....The P21s wheel cleaner was great. It is a "regular" wheel cleaner, but it has no Acid, and it cleans like it had. I have used the Megs all wheel cleaner regulary and some other Norwegian cleaners, so it was nice to try another brand.

So:

-Spray on
-Hose off
-Nice`n clean
(after that i wash the wheels with NXT and Black ShMitt)

Will i use it again?
-Yes
Will i buy it again?
-Yes

The Duragloss Aquawax was something i realy looked forward to try, many good rewies her at AG, so after wash and wipe, i got the MF in one hand and the AW in the other, sprayed and wiped, sprayd and wiped. first thing that struck me was that it was harder to wipe on the car, and harder to wipe off, i have only used the ClearKote QS before, so of those too, the CK QS is much easyer to get on and off than the AW. I did use AW on a dryed car, so maybe its easyer to use it on a wet car, but i have a feeling that i have to go over the car after a hour or two, to remove the last "evidence" of AW if i apply it to a wet car.

So:

-Slickness was great
-Shine was reeeeeealy good. Deep`n wet
-applying was OK
-removing was OK

Will i use it again?
Yes
Will i Buy it again?
Maybe, probably try some other next time i buy. (that was before i went out in the garage to take som pics for you guys/girls, NOW i want to get some more of this AW bling bling spray, the car is absolutley sparkling, im seriously impressed, Almost like "GIVE ME 10-20 min and ill SHOW you GLOSS" but its still harder to apply/remove than the CK QS, but IMO its well worth it.

Probably would have bought the ClearKote QS (i did, an empty can if AG had it on stock (now), (before garage pics this too)

The Duragloss AW is not a bad buy by all means, it made the car look superb, so maybe next time i try it, ill get hooked (next time IS now)

No full pics, its no point taking the car outside of the garage, its night here now (the clock is 1 at night AM/PM whatever, i never remember)

But GLOSSY? yes!

Nice, but QS is a very good qd'er and AW is an spray sealant, totally different products. If you apply AW nice and thin it's easy use. Only takes a little per panel. Give it another day to, AW takes about a day to really bring the look out it gives. You can use it on your wheels and glass as well.

Next time, grab some DG Fast Clean and Shine, it's fast becomming my favorite qd'er.

That looks great Truls. What did you think of the P21s Wheel Cleaner? I have some but I have not tried it yet. I hope everything works out on your damaged shipment.

If it was hard to wipe off..you used to much...1 spray per panel is enough...use two MF's..one to apply it and one to wipe it off with...

Do a sweeping motion to apply it...to cover more area....use the applicator MF to wipe it in..then the dry one to wipe it off...you should be set then...but use very little ..after a few the MF will be moist of AW and spread easier....

I used a HP washer. Took all off the brake dust and gritt away
Did not turn my brake discs "rusty" either (killr said it was the
acid in the wheel cleaners that made the discs turn "rusty"

AL-53: sounds like you hit the nail, i do think i used more than i should,
Im using less next time. Do you recomend using it on wet or dry car,
Or will the Ease/outcome be the same?

That's nice to know. I hate it when when the brake discs get rusty. I wish I could get some ceramic ones for my Lambo just so the won't get rusty. Here is your picture and thanks for the info.

oh, nice. Yeah ceramic is good, thats not cheap. I was thinking about Black Diamond for my car, but Ohlins and wheels is my first buy when summer comes along.

I definitely agree with everything said here. It seemed a bit harder to wipe off, but not hard at all, just harder than some other qd's I've used, but I could have used slightly too much and will go much lighter next application. I noticed it came off much easier with a plush microfiber towel as well.

A testimony to the gloss and depth it created was when I picked up my daughter yesterday after using the Duragloss Aquawax, before saying "hi dad" she said "dad, your car is a lot glossier than it was this morning"....true story, and she's oly 8 years old. So if an 8 year old can see the difference than I'd say it's worthy! I didn't really care for the smell of it(reminded me of peppers for some reason), but after I saw the shine and the beading it creates I quickly got used to it!

If you like the look of Aquawax, but want it to act more like the QS, then switch to 921. Its easy to use, lasts just as long, and looks the same. I found it to be the better product.

Gary, most brake pads use metal particles as binders. These get embedded into the rotors and attach. Using acid and lye (common store bought wheel cleaners) will immediately turn them rusty looking. Not that water alone, or other chemicals, but nowhere near as fast, and usually not everywhere. Unscientific as best. I have ceramic pads on past Corvette and wifes CTS and you literally only need water, and car wash soap. I would use a coat of DP Wheel Sealant monthly just to keep them bling-bling.
