Are all wash soaps the same?

As the title says, I just finished with my old bottle of Armor-all car wash and am looking for some new stuff. The price difference between brands is staggering. I was looking at the mequires gold class wash, but I don't know......

Re: Are all wash soaps the same?

boutique products offer better ingredients usually, not designed as a price point product for Wally World. Optimum, Duragloss, and Poorboys rock !

Re: Are all wash soaps the same?

If your looking otc, Megs Gold Class will suffice, Duragloss is top notch but rare to find otc. AG has plenty of good washes, of which can be purchased in larger units (gallons) making cost savings even better, Duragloss is one of the top around and cheap.

New Armor All stuff like tire gel, protectant etc are good products, but the wash is crap from what I've heard.

Re: Are all wash soaps the same?

I have used AA a while back and it was awful. The suds did not last very long in harder water. I use DG and Mothers and they are both significantly better.

Re: Are all wash soaps the same?

All washes definitely are not the same. There are some real crappy soaps out there.

I always have a gallon on my shelf.

Also as Killr mentioned in his post, Poorboys also has quality soaps at a great price.

Worlds Best Wax Auto Shampoo. All natural, no heavy detergents or phosphates. After that I use another mass market brand for most of my detailing.

Re: Are all wash soaps the same?

Megs Gold Class is the best OTC soap, but not as good as Optimum, Poorboy's SS&S, or Duragloss...
Also, dillution ratio, you can use just one 1oz for a wash, where with Gold Class you would use more...
