Well, my 6" interchangeable bp just took a crap

What are people using on their flex for the 6.5 inch force pads? This plate fit them nicely, now I have nothing!

Happened to me twice. First time Nick replaced it for me. Second time it happened caused some marring on the customer's car. Second time it happened I didn't bother contacting AG because I was deathly afraid it would happen again and again with no end in sight.

The big plate was never a success. It's not even available anymore and you only get the 4" plate. So it was a massive fail. you aren't the only one with this problem. Do a quick google search and plenty of threads will come up.

I got both in my order as at the time I was forced to buy both in a set. Never touched the big one and never will.

Sorry to hear about your experience, as for the the force pads, I cannot help. For some reason AG doesn't even carry the new force pads. They are the same Hybrid pads but a lot better apparently and I would love to try them. Mike P loves the Hybrid with the flex, so I am surprised they are not carrying it when tons of other stores are.

Use the std oem 5.5" bp for the 6.5" pads.

This is kinda scary. I've had my Flex 3401 now for about 20 jobs and the original plate is working fine for me with 6.5" hybrids. I do switch it out to the smaller plates for smaller areas and give the OEM plate a break every now and then. I also make sure my felt ring is lubed up.

Gonna watch it more closely now.

Ok I don't like how the factory plate leaves so much Velcro showing. That is what I switched to. Lake county said they went to that size because the new flex factory plate, I'm guessing the large orbit machine, has a larger plate.
