Manufacturer Claims

This cleaner is a gentle, clarifying polish for your plastic headlight lenses. It removes surface contamination and the cloudy residue that covers the lens. This haze is caused by prolonged UV exposure, so it’s not something that sits on top of the plastic. It is a condition that affects the plastic from the surface inward. Catch it early, and you can remove all of the haze so your lens covers look like new.

Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner contains diminishing abrasives that blend away surface imperfections to restore clarity to your lens covers. As they work, they gradually diminish under the friction of the pad until they are completely gone. Therefore, they will not abrade the plastic. The polish is water-based and has a very low solvent content, making it VOC compliant.
Directions:

1. Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner is formulated to be used with an electric drill and a 4” light cutting pad. Select the orange pad, the drill adapter, and the 2 ¾” backing plate. If using a cordless drill, use the highest setting. If using an electric drill, use the lowest setting.

It comes in a 4 oz bottle black bottle with a flip cap top. The product is part of a lens cleaning system that includes Wolfgang Lens Cleaning Glaze and Wolfgang Surface Sealant. The label is nice, and the directions are easy to read and follow.

Color/Scent/Viscosity

A cream colored liquid. No scent.

Application

The product calls for application with a polishing pad or cordless drill.

Machine Application:

1. If you prefer to use a polisher, select the appropriate backing plate for a 4 inch pad. We recommend you work at a speed no greater than 1500 RPM with a circular polisher. If you are using a dual action polisher, set your maximum speed to 5000 OPM.
2. Use blue painter’s tape to tape off around your headlights. This will prevent unwanted polishing of the paint.
3. Polish until the cleaner begins to dry. Use an overlapping circular motion.

Buff away the residue with a microfiber towel.

Overall Thoughts

I am very pleased with this product. I applied this product with a soft micro fiber towel to the clear headlight lenses of my Nissan 350Z and Toyota 4Runner. I buffed the product into the lens and removed with a soft micro fiber towel.

The product cleaned the lenses and made them crystal clear. I can compare this product to Meguiars Plastix and Novus Plastic Polish. The product was very easy to use and performed as stated. Overall it appears to be a nice plastic lenses cleaner that can be used on headlight lenses, speedometer clusters, and plastic face plates.

The product did remove minor hazing and grime as stated by the manufacturer.

You can expect 2 to 3 months of excellent plastic protection, depending on driving conditions and frequency. Daily commuters may experience 2 months of protection while vehicles driven less often or shorter distances will experience greater longevity. When water no longer beads on your lens covers, it is time to reapply Wolfgang Plastik Surface Sealant.

Directions:

1. Apply Wolfgang Plastik Surface Sealant with a microfiber or poly foam applicator pad.
2. Allow the sealant to haze over and buff the lens with a soft microfiber towel.

Overall Thoughts

I applied this product with a soft microfiber towel after using the Wolfgang Plastik Lens Cleaner. The product was very easy to use and did seem to add in the clarity of the lenses. The product claims to have UV protection to prevent hazing and to preserve clarity. Durability testing will have to be done to see if the lenses are protected with the sealant. If the product meets the manufacturer’s claim of 2-3 months of protection then it’s a winner in my book. It would certainly cut down on maintenance of plastic lenses on your vehicle. The product is also VOC compliant.

I got the original kit several years back when first introduced. I asked a friend with a Malibu to let me test it, he took the kit and I never saw polishes or buffing head again. I guess he truly loved it.

I only used Plastic sealant, and loved. None of my headlight is hazed.

Ya'll must not have tried to clean the cloudy lens I usually get. My technique is wet sand with 1000 grit - then compound with a foam wool pad (I use Malco brand compound - Perfex) - polish with white foam pad and whatever you fav polish is and then spray Plexus on it and wipe off with a MF towel. Oh yeah - compound with a rotary, polish with a PC.

I tried the trio. My lenses were somewhat pitted but not hazed. Saw no difference what-so-ever after using it.

Im not impressed with it. Id rather use something like SIP or 106FF. Worse case, wet sanding. Id be more then happy to sell the kit. Ive only used it 3 times.
